Hey, I think I know that Tagaghà person...
I really enjoy your writing style, Dandelion, and the insight you have on the human condition, which shows through in your work, even when the characters aren't human. I hope you will finish the graphic novel sooner than later, so I can read the whole story.
Have another exalt on me for your latest excerpt. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Oooh. Who do you know who is like Tagaghà? Or should I not ask for privacy reasons? I hope to finish it too. Hopefully many more bursts of motivation are forthcoming. I'm working on building another burst up now. It probably won't be enough to hurtle me to 50,000 words by Nov. 30, but every bit helps. Speaking of the human condition... funnily enough... although this little excerpt isn't going directly into the book, it's what I was inspired to write. It's definitely related. It's telling something I'll need to demonstrate in fewer words in the script. hraith.livejournal.com/25065.html

I could say who I know that is like Tagaghà, but I wouldn't want to upset anyone that might happen upon this forum. So, yeah, privacy reasons...
In your case, Dandelion, it hardly matters if you reach 50K by Nov 30, since you have another goal in addition to NaNoWriMo: Finishing your project and publishing it.
So you have to state in even fewer words the same ideas as in that excerpt? Well, I have faith in you that you can do it.
Go, Dandelion!

hraith.livejournal.com/25105.htmlIt's Fsau Léan again. I'm trying to figure out why I like this character so much. Maybe it's because his problem is so simple. He's seeking a reason to be proud of himself. What he needs to do is give up on hoping forthe acceptance of others; there are easier and more meaningful ways to achieve his goal, and by now he should've learned that he'll never get the acceptance he craves unless he accepts himself first. He's halfway there! Maybe I'm just trying to get him to finish the job. Or maybe I'm trying to avoid working on the script. :oP

OK, well, you know, whether you're avoiding working on your script or what, I'm glad I got to read this excerpt. It was hilarious! I needed a good laugh after the dead-serious stuff I've been writing.
Yeah, I do know Tagaghà. He's a lot funnier to read about than to deal with in real life. Seeing how Fsau Léan refrains from taking certain actions reminds me of...myself, at least when it comes to dealing with the Tagaghà in my life.
You've definitely earned another exalt with this excerpt. Any time you can make me laugh like that, you get an exalt from me.

Woo! I'm past the halfway point! Words-wise, that is. Story-wise, I'm almost done. Just Book 1; it looks like I won't be getting to Book 2 this month.
No excerpt just yet. Sorry about that. I've been racing through script and leaving out detail and description. The problem is I feel like drawing, not writing about drawing, so I'll need to take notes on all the mental images later.

hraith.livejournal.com/25670.htmlIt's something! It's just a collection of exercises that follow a side plot, and it's from the point of view of the wrong character, but so is all of Fsau's stuff.

Wow, I didn't realize just how tough Nulu had it. Great excerpt about Nulu, and helps me understand that character a lot more. Thanks for posting it.

Thank you. And here's another. This one is a followup, and it may actually make it into the book, so I'm glad I wrote all that other stuff leading up to it now. Not every scrap of story has to be published in order to be useful! hraith.livejournal.com/25913.html

I'm glad you wrote all of the other stuff leading up to this excerpt, too. It was cool being "in the know" about the background for the excerpt.
So, how far do you still have to go with the script?

I'm done! Well... I mean, it's still a horrible mess. It needs a ton of editing. But I reached the end.

Well, hey, you get an exalt if you're done! You can have another after you finish editing! So get out the cutting board, and get to work!!

Your last excerpt was, as usual, interesting and entertaining. Thanks for posting it.
Your characters and mine are quite a contrast physically. Yours are massive; mine are gaunt. Yours have all this flesh and hair, and mine are bony and nearly hairless, especially the bad guys. Unfortunately, I can't draw, so I can't reciprocate with sketches. But thanks for posting the sketches of your guys!
