And now I'm waiting for my T&T 1st and 4th editions!!! Just felt I should post here that my package from "that guy" that I ordered on December 16th just came in. That's right... not even two full days. It is December 18th. Now, we're in the same state, so it makes sense it would be faster for me than some, but still... not even two days. I am deeply impressed. Unfortunately, I cannot open this package for another week yet, so I cannot tell you about the contents (or at least, I will try not to open it for another week ). I'll give a review after I open them. "that guy", if you're reading this, you da man. I'll be back soon with another order. Thank you very much.

If you worry about "that company"'s adventures pick anything done by Andy Holmes. He is the best, an awesome writer, and represents the best of T&T. You can find a lot of his material at Hobgoblin's Tavern web.ukonline.co.uk/angora/index.html. I have yet to be disapointed with any "that company" product. (well... maybe a little bothered by T&T6 and using Wealth House Rule [the new Gold Standard] in T&T Superheroes. ) Good ideas are always put to work at "that company". ;D

Yeah, Hobbit Hole magazines are usually a good value. You probably won't use everything in each issue, but there is enough good stuff to make them worth it.

Don't forget the Dungeoneer's Digest. A little smaller, but packs a good wallop of quality T&T ideas.

You ordered EVERY Hobbit Hole?!?!? Egads! Talk about information overload. Buy some Excedrin too! I agree with Talonfire, don't forget Dugeoneer's Digest! With either one, I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised with how well done they are. And if you ordered the whole lot, you'll be able to see how it's progressed over time from a 'fanzine' to what is very nearly a store-quality zine (though in some areas it exceeds that quality!).

No such thing as too much information , but thanks for the expression of concern. I love fanzines focussing on systems i like. Tales of the Reaching Moon was one of my best purchasing decisions ever. And i have most of the Sorcerers Apprentices , great for flicking through. I think i picked up on spite damage from one of those , way before 5.5.

Merry Christmas to Me...the Post Office delivered Monsters, Monsters, the T&T Compendium and, er, Wytches by Andy Holmes! Does "that guy" include free extras in every order or am I just making my Luck SRs? Give me a few days to digest and i'll post a few opinions.

Tunnels & Trolls Player's Companion by Various Authors. 52pages.
A collection of Houserule articles from the UK fanzine Take That You Fiend, reprinted by "that company". At a glance, we're looking at a true "everything and the Kitchen sink" approach, bundled loosely into approximations of the T&T 5th ed. rulebook(Characters, Equipment, Combat etc.) Highlights include:
A new way for Poisons to work Wear & Tear rules for Armor Attack/Defense Options in Melee Speed and Initiative options Battle Points(a sort of Weapons Skill training system that rewards sticking to a few favorite weapons) Mana System(a sort of Proto-Kremm, but less absolute and based on SRs) A few samples of themed Wizards Guilds(and altered Spell lists) Although the Houserules came from various sources, the presentation of them suggest that they were used together in a campaign or two. Much like Unearthed Arcana for AD&D 1st ed. though, i'd recommend it as more of a Toolbox-a buffet to pick tasty bits from and/or a springboard for your own inspiration.
In short: Need it? nope. Worth getting? Yep. Worth the money? I thought so, i'm already lifting Attack/Defense Option with the Shorter Turns Option for a few Arena playtests...

Monsters! Monsters! by Ken St. Andre,48 pages. Presentation: This is an ORIGINAL Metagaming copy as advertised on the "that company" site. The cover is evocative, the writing is hilarious, the Liz Danforth art is extraordinary... You know, i'm not even going to pretend to any sort of objectivity here-I LOVE this game! Okay, back to the review... Contents include: Monster PC creation(complete with concise descriptions of each) Breakdown of SRs T&T spell list going up to Lvl 4, along with a few Innate Monster powers/spells. Equipment for Humanoid Monsters and Kindred Prey alike. An Altered AP earning Scheme for Monster PCs(you can get AP for Feasting on your Prey and for kidnapping Pretty/Handsome hostages, BTW). Complete Magic and Combat sequence...on a sidenote, this game is a 1976 printing-and as a result, Missle Weapons are resolved on a single D6, Melee weapons do one die less damage, and a Lvl 3 Warrior or Rogue Kin can do as much damage with bare hands as a sword(a minor quirk 5th ed. fixed)!! Monsters generate a Combat Die based on STR, then add Combat adds for a sort of PC MR...wouldn't make too much sense for a Dragon to use a Sword after all! SOoooo.... Need it? Well, you could use 5th ed. T&T, but the MM book has a few crunchy bits you might prefer to use. So the answer is, probably. Also, you could do a 1-4 Lvl T&T game with it and port more spells from T&T 5th for a 1st ed. campaign-that's pretty cool. Worth getting? I'm not objective here, but YEAH!!!!!! Worth the money? Easily.
