PDFs are pretty crucial to me at this point. I have very little money to spend on anything outside of life necessities,
but those expenditures are often on game books/ancillary stuff. I get things through proper channels when I can (bought one of the first 200 5.5 books - the cover now bubbles and curls - just ordered though mail to Midkemia Press, etc) but have no qualms searching for unsupported and out-of-print materials on the internet. Such PDFs naturally just make me want to but the actual physical product (the 'case against' PDF by Hogscape above - can't use them at table, don't want to read off a computer ALL the time).
I find myself getting to the point where I don't want to talk about Buffalo business decisions 1) because it's not my business and 2) it just gets me mad anyway. It's not important - or at least its not something I anticipate changing in ways I'd like to see. T&T 'is' obviously available already as a PDF (I didn't know, never searched for any) - the whole thing is a little more frustrating to me than it should be. Back when I was in a band and I found out that some of our material was being pirated, I honestly felt kinda flattered. And surprised - but it was exposure, dissemination, etc. Of course, I wasn't thinking that the band was ever going to make me any money (Whaddya know! I was right!), so the financial side of it was of no concern to me.
I prefer books. I like pdfs. They're not ideal for all purposes, but neither are books. I use pdfs a lot.
