Lindorm/Lindworm/Lintwurm A smaller cousin of the dragon, with a longer, serpent like body; sometimes with wings. It is said that it has magic ability to lay on top of something, and make that thing grow - often treasure - much like the dragons. It also can move very rapidly by holding on to its own tail with its teeth, and the roll fast like a wheel until it is upon its prey. Norsemen often depict The Lindworm on their shields and/or on rune stones. It is said that the Lindworm spends the winter insides Linde trees (Lind in Swedish). There are two types of Lindworms: the one mentioned above, but also a more kind “good” variety, that possessed magical charms that could be transferred if touched or captured.
Suggested MR between 100-500. Older specimen can have even higher MR. It Can have the ability to fly and often has a protective scale.

Bäckahäst (Sweden), Brook Horse, Kelpie (Scotland) Ceffyl Dŵr. (Wales)
A ferocious predator that appears, mostly in foggy weather, as a beautiful white horse standing close to rivers and Streams. It will usually try to use its magical powers to try to convince its prey, often children, to sit on it’s back. Once there it will try to drown the unlucky rider. It can also try to lure a rider, and its horse, to place where it will try to drown them. Throwing a piece of iron between Bäckahsäten and the water, is said to break it’s spell. Bäckahästen is related to Nixies, and other fey beings that lives close to water, but keeps to itself.
Suggested MR 100
Powers: If the combined IQ, CHR, LUCK or WIZ, is lower than the MR, then the prey is under the spell of the Brooke horse and will be drown.

Sounds like the Scottish EACH UISGE, "Water Horse": It will entice you to mount it. Then it will tear off and race across the landscape at breakneck speed finally plunging itself and its doomed rider into deep water to drown him. There ought be a Saving Roll vs. IQ (=willpower). (I still think there needs to be a separate WILLPOWER stat in T&T.)

I encourage everyone to adapt my text to their liking; I tried to keep it generic. Interesting to hear about the EACH USGE, perhaps the myth developed in parallel, or through contact across the North Sea?

Interesting to hear about the EACH USGE, perhaps the myth developed in parallel, or through contact across the North Sea? Maybe you could use the WIZ stat for a SR? I mean you can be stupid, but at the same time stubborn . Otherwise I would, like you, use IQ.

I've been known to use the average of IQ and CHR for willpower Saving Rolls. CHR is, at least to some extent, a measure of your ability to 'sweet-talk' the universe into doing what you want, so it seems not inappropriate to use it here.

Hello folks. It is time for another being from the Nordic folk lore Nixie Näcken, Näkki, Nøkk Fossegrim This is kind of the rock star of the Scandinavian folk lore. The Scandinavian näcken, näkki, nøkk were said to be a male water spirit who could take different shapes – a human, a brook horse – and that played enchanted songs on the violin, luring women and children to drown in lakes or streams; it also tried other ways to drown people. The best way to protect oneself was said to wear something made by iron. There are tales of when Näcken enchanted a whole group of people and made them dance until their feet were worn down to the bones; folk songs a have been written on this theme. Sometimes Näcken would share his musical talent, for a steep price usually the soul of the musician. Näcken can never be permanently killed, but its body can be temporarily destroyed. It would rarely engage in hand-to-hand combat; if did, the following MR is suggested: 150-250. I also suggest that Näcken knows one, or all, of the following spells: Beffudle, Dum-Dum Mindpox, Spirit mastery and Zingum.

I remember reading i in Trolls Zone number 1, I think it was, that Ken wanted some more humor in the monster creation. I took that at hearth and came up with some encounters that are more light hearted , fun or wierd. Humor is, like like love, a many splintered thing as Sisters of mercy sang; what one person find funny can in the worst case be offending to another. That is way I left out some ideas, that i will keep for my camping, as to not hurt anyones feelings.
Here are some "monsters" I came up with that the gm, or you as a solo player, can use, or be inspired by
1.
The genderbender MR: 20-50
A Ghoul that with special powers. Instead of paralyzing thouch, it will change the sex of it's opponent if manages to inflict damage; and if the foe fails a L2 SR on CON, or if the GM prefers: if it's combined CON plus STR beats the MR of the genderbender.
2.
Omar tariff and Glen Gold MR 25 -45 each
Two charming ghosts that will attack your gold. Everytime they inflict damage, these point are taken not from CON, but from your gold. If your character is not carrying gold but other valubels, it will reduce its value by the inflicted damage. If your charater dosen't carry any treasures. The ghost will laugh at you, and disapper.
3.
Meiosis the short sighted Cyclops MR 80-150 Or more on lower levels.
A short sighted Cyclops that wears a monocle. If he loses it, his MR will be halved - but on the other hand he will be furius and goes into berserk.
4.
The out of tune banshee MR 50-150 or more
Will ask anyone that she enouncters to help her fix her cry, that is out of tune and horrendous even for banshees. Otherwise she attacks, and has all the normal capabilitis tha a Banshee has.
5.
Lead dragon MR 100 and up.
A sad cousin to the Gold Dragon, who will bore out everyone she meets with her endless triads on how unfair life is for a dragon who wasn't born a black, red, green or Golden dragon. Everyone who listens, and makes a L1 SR on charisma will be rewarded with 10 roll on the random treasure tabel; all others - including those who didn't want to listen in the first place - will be attacked. The lead dragaon is kind of pacific though, and will only fight for three rounds, after that it will flee. Happy holidays everyone!

The Ear Worm Mostly found in jungle environments; resembles a small leech but hangs off trees at roughly head height.
If adventurer fails a SR against Dexterity, the ear worm will lodge in their ear. This is not fatal, and rarely lasts more than a day, but is highly distracting as the the worm's activities in the ear canal sets up a constant vibration that sounds like a catchy song. Typical effects include reducing the adventurer's IQ or Dexterity.
GM may allow the player to expel the ear worm by singing an appropriate song.
