Maybe something like the beloved Corgis of old: small, affordable, portable, convenient? I will repeat that it will be a good idea to reprint the dT&T rules, but in smaller paperback format and without the Trollworld setting section. I would buy a"corgi" version of deluxe, even though I have the hardcover version.

Well, I wrote Rebellion weeks ago, fishing for any writing/editorial opportunities, but, thus far...nothin'! From what I can see, they only want to hire people who already live in either Warwickshire or Oxfordshire.

Or is that based on what you've gleaned from the careers link (I looked too...) I guess Los Angelesshire is out of their radius...

Don't know if they've yet hired any of the inhabitants of Trollworld.
I'm a Linguist/Writer/Editor looking for work, so that's why I dropped them an email. Usually it's a message in a bottle: an all but totally futile attempt to get a ping back from the publishing industry, which is pretty monolithic. I'm guessing that, if they are open to hiring, its very strictly UK residents only. I think, since the end of COVID, there's been a nasty backlash against telecommute jobs. They probably want British bums in British chairs in British cubicles.

More likely they're just busy, T&T is literally a brand new thing they're deciding what to do with, and speculative applications for work are not given high priority since they already employ or have existing relationships with a number of writers/designers.

They had open job listings on their site as they were actively looking for personnel, but, as noted, they appear to be only for locals (UK residents).

So, is this new...
Rebellion States: Is there anything you can tell us?
There’s going to be a new edition, and it’s going to be fun.

I'd very much like to see a Classic Edition - much like 4th or 5th, perhaps, but tweaked and polished a little. Possibly even a merger of the best bits of 1st through 5th, however that might be determined.
Deluxe is a very fine edition, don't get me wrong, but it departs quite a bit from the elegant simplicity of the earlier game. I think that's a big part of the reason why I haven't felt especially inclined to move my campaign to it. There's a lot of extra detail which I'm sure is very useful to many, but for me it often just seems to bog things down a bit.
Not sure that such a thing is very likely, but still...

Well, if I getting it right. Ya got to keep the Saving Rolls... MR... Perhaps the 1000d6 combat format, yeah? Try and develop a system that folks enjoy. Sarah Newton has done that. The Kin structure, the Special Abilities; gives format. You read something an Dwarves and it like, yeah right, what does that mean, does (like a Talent) grant Dwarf +3 to rolls vs Mountaineering, rock, gem: work, focus? It gives nothing, it lazy in its format. Stating it got bonuses is format... and to me make it more exciting to know how the character develops and what makes it what it is? But the T&T, M!M! system can get a bit restrained, it not precise and just a quick barrage of possibilities, but little detail. If they want to surpass that, they need to make the game more exciting... They could personalize it like Runequest with every monster with a name, but that can get tiring... Moving away from MR, but keeping the format for quick encounters. The list is endless, but I think they must have many ideas that they wish to develop and experiment with... I hoping they Keep Trollworld alive, but I uncertain. The old solo evolve Trollworld, but will they create a new world, eh?

I believe the biggest "third party" (not T&T fans) complaints about T&T have always had these as the main "problems": 1) Spell names
On this I personally say to hell with them. Its a style thing and you either like it or just rename them yourself. It shouldn't really matter. BUT I'm not trying to sell anything. For a business to grow, I guess they could come up with a cleverly veiled alternate name system or some other way to address this. But address it.
2) Big battles too many dice and too number crunchy (foregone mathematical conclusions)
I honestly don't have personal experience with this as my kids just do low level stuff and I don't remember what happened when I was a teenager and really playing GM stuff (and I like rolling lots of dice and I always understood how "stunting" was the answer). But apparently many other folks just don't see it clearly so make it more upfront in the rules. Not a separate section later on after the problem is in someone's head, advertise it and hype it right at the beginning of the "combat" section. And be prescriptive. Turn it into a selling point, not a negative!
3) Missing bestiary I know there is one, kind of, but it isn't the version that the mass market wants. So give it to them (bestiary with background, MR, special attacks, etc.) and just explicitly include the normal T&T motto/disclaimer, "but it is your game, adjust as you see fit to make a giant version of a "bat", etc". Again, be prescriptive!
Net, I think they should address all these long-time concerns head on and make a marketing push frontal assault. Hype these aspects specifically and shove it down the internets throats. There will still be detractors of the "implementation" but cut-off the core complaints at the knees. Don't ignore!

I think they should keep t&t as it is, and focus what makes it diffrent from all the d20 system. Apperantly it's big in Japan and France, and there are a lot of die hard fans worldwide. I have tested t&t on newbies and they didn't have any problems with MR's excessive dice rolling, funny spellnames - just the opposite actually - . So lets hope that t&t stays t&t. If it aint broke don't fix it!

A full-blown bestiary may be a mistake. I feel that what is better is stressing that Referees make up their own creations, but the core rules need some guidance to help people understand various degrees of granularity. Part of that more detailed monster-creation process is a much more in-depth elaboration of the probabilities of "spite" -- something wholly lacking in dT&T.
As for the sometimes "goofy" spell-names, I'm down with that. Humour in RPGs may be a touchy issue for some who want all the grimdark, gritty seriousness, but a bit of levity is a good thing.
