Lets stir this pot a little more and see what magic emerges.
This is a brainstorming thread so thread-jack to your hearts content...

I chose Trollbridge because, to me, it implies a connection to the original rules. Appaerently Peryton Publishing is ahead of the curve on this with its RuinCrawl rules. www.perytonpublishing.com/tag.htmI have not bought them but for a buck I will grab the PDF.

Lets stir this pot a little more and see what magic emerges. I went with TrollBridge simply because that's what I was already thinking. Of course, if you wanted to stick with the ampersand style title you could try Trolls & Bridges. It's a nice nod to tradition as well as to the community here with the added feel of many creatures and places of potential adventure and excitement. It should be said, and I'll risk being branded a blasphemer here, that just because you're creating a clone doesn't mean that you can't play with the genes a little in the hopes of improving upon the original.

I agree Prof, this forum is full of altered T&T genes. So long as it does not become a new species and it can cross pollinate it is all good.

I do like TrollBridge but its implied meaning will only resonate with visitor's to the 'bridge - okay that should be ALL T&T players but not yet...
I would go with Troll Bridge or 'The Troll Bridge' which has a fairy tale aspect to it - so I'm not sure it's right or:
Swords & Deviltry (the ultimate Greymouser book) drips with swords and sorcery.
Here Be Trolls (look, it has 'trolls' in the title).
Tales of Trolls and Tunnels or just 'Of Tunnels and Trolls' (look, I didn't use the ampersand so it's all above board right)? This title says 'clearly derivitive' but 'not the same as'.
Dungeons Deep (sounds a bit LotR)
Fantasy Toolbox (I quite often see MachFront refer to 5e as a 'toolbox').
Phoenix T&T (or From the Ashes) ;D
Cripes... Where is TDK's response - that will be 20 pages long! ;D

I don't like the 'feel' and sound of Trollbridge, but what feldrik said about a "connection to the earlier rules" makes a good case for it. This is a land mine field in my opinion. A good name is important. Names carry a lot of weight. Also, they're not as easy as they seem to be to come up with. "Phoenix" made me smile for all it's implications as well. I'm sorry, Prof, but I do have to disagree with you with regards to mucking about with the rules. The whole point of a clone is to not "impove" the original because there's nothing wrong with the original (which is also part of the reason the clone is being created, because some thought they did need to improve something that wasn't broken to begin with, thus changing the game, wherein the clone is necessary to bring back what once was and was fine all along...) When you create a clone you already have to make a number of small changes for legal reasons. It's unfortunate even that has to be done. Change more and you're even further away from the original. I guess concessions could be made few or none would make a fuss about. Perhaps the absurd weights of weapons. Minutia like that. Make the close-as-close-can-be clone OGL itself...and then there can be many "Powered by (Clone Name Here)" games that muck about with the rules as there are fans, and that'll be all good.

Hmm, I'm sure I'll think of more later but the first thing that springs to mind is.
"Legends of Trolls & Tunnels"
"Tales & Trolls"
"Towers & Tales & Trolls" (That way you could call it T3 ;D )

Here Be Trolls (look, it has 'trolls' in the title). Beyond Here There Be Trolls... With a Troll compass for the logo... Hey, why not? If Kobolds can have high tech watches...

I can certainly agree with that since it was the little modifications to bypass the legal morass that I was considering.

Perhaps another thread is required for suggestions as to the minor changes a clone might require?
For a title, I like TDKs 'Legends of Tunnels & Trolls'.
As for the other T&T clone, the writer clearly knows exactly what's going on but I think he hasn't given himself enough time to write it all down; or proof his copy; or even taken a peak at what he's written... The section on experience points starts with the comment 'As I stated earlier...' but no previous statement could be found. Halp!

I am fond of the title Dark Dungeons as well, from the classic Jack Chic comic. I have always wanted to produce a game with that name...just for him.
I have to recant and agree with macfront on the clone/rules issue. Sorry prof but he is just sooo persasive, if T&T were a political party I would vote for machfront.
I have not gotten the Peryton rules yet, are they really that convoluted?

Some name idea variations Across the Troll's Bridge Dungeons & Darkness (a nod to Chick's Dark Dungeons, and an ampersand, and a D&D shorthand, just for confusions, but also prevents Chick from suing over the trademarked title of his tract.) Looking Glasses and Wardrobes... (A nod to Alice in Wonderland and Narnia...) Caverns of Adventure
