Odd character on that bike over there...
Anyway. I must have had my funny glasses on today, since I read your post to mean the opposite what you wrote. Go figure.

I'm new at this whole web-posting stuff, just got started, so forgive me please if I step on toes (or hind claws, or whatever) but what about grabbing some young'uns from your 'hood, and hosting a T&T game at the local library? Surely some of us can still do that without getting called pervs. Also, has anyone thought about directing the interested to the links at Trollhalla? Some of the sites I just checked out seem pretty new and cool.

It's a nice idea, unclecranky, but heck, it's hard enough finding people interested in playing pencil and paper rpgs at all, let alone T&T specifically. I think instead of being called a perv if I played at the my local library, we'd probably no doubt be ousted for "summoning demons" or whatever it is those crazy role-playin' kids do. I don't know what links you're referring to since I don't go to Trollhalla, nor will I ever. Having a club that costs money is something else that rubs me the wrong way a great deal and is one of the many things, I think, that certainly don't help to spread the word about T&T. There are a number of sites with lots of nice and helpful info, but still, there's very few that look nice and modern. As much as it may not matter to me, first impressions are everything and a new (especially young) player could very well be turned off by the look of some of those sites. It's a shame, but I think it's true. Also, yes, there area lot of sites. But there's still no real one-stop-shop really. Perhaps there's one or two that could be argued to be, but not an official one. Heck, the most official one is a webpage that looks ugly by 1995 standards. *shrug* I dunno...

^^^ That's a big reason why it took me so long to get involved in the game. I gave it a try in the mid 90s but due to space restrictions onboard a Navy ship I tossed my set and never really looked back. 7th made me want to give it another try with the upgrades, but finding it was nearly impossible as nobody seemed to stock it (even places that carry the FD Tins), and the various websites for T&T seem either archaic or barely there. Heck, I am surprised I could even find a preorder link on FB's site!
The site needs upgrading, and a nice forum too. Few people are willing to pay to post at a forum, especially such a niche one.
Few people know the game is still in print, much less new editions and continuing support products.

Yep. That's exactly what I mean.
I mean, can you think of any other in-print game that is so hard to find and has such a fractured online and real life presence? It makes it feel as though it actually is out of print.

Machfront, It does not cost anything to join Trollhalla. The logon page is out of date. There is a cost if you want to be eligible to win prizes in some of the competitions, but that's just the estimated cost of mailing said prizes.

Oh, ok. Well, that's good. They need to change that info. I know that that keeps a lot of people away and that's a shame. Guess I'll go sign up.

Have any of you guys actually looked at the Trollhalla page?
The second sentence on the page, underlined even, say you can try it out for free.

T&T do have a fractured on-line presence, indeed. It do have a lot to do with Rick being totally fine with his very old-school webpage. It's possible to find using google, though, and from there you can buy the latest edition. At least when I last looked.

Put it this way, I posted my review at a couple of different RPG sites, most of which are generally in the know about new stuff and most people who commented said "Its still in print? They made a new edition? WOAH".
A nice little website would help. Maybe Paizo selling it and having it in their latest email ad will help a bit.

Insofar as I know, you need to email Ken St. Andre, (Khenn Arth) about joining. He can tell you about the costs or lack thereof.
