Still any T&T love around? Things have gotten quiet, and it seems the T&T fervor has died down a tad. I must admit, as time goes on, i'm having more and more issues with T&T, and none of them have to do with the system (which I consider one of the best RPG systems ever! EVER!).

Here are a few issues i'm having with T&T. I decided to enumerate them for the following reasons; first off, to see if others feel the same way or if i'm just crazy, and second, to see if there are any plausible solutions to what I percieve as a problem. Note: the following is born out of a great respect for the game, and hopefully wont come across as a series of rants and raves. 1) It seems to me that those at the top of the pyramid simply don't care where the game is going, or furthering the game. FBI seems interested in selling off it's 5.5E and 7E, and unloading T&T stuff from its warehouse. KSA promissed a bunch of stuff for 7E, which i doubt we'll ever see. FDP seems to have forgotten it even ever put out the "latest" edition of the venerable game. I know there's some great fan driven stuff out there, but if those at the T&T helm can't even be bothered, why should I invest so much in the game? 2) A centralized area for the game. I mean a "one stop" type of affair. If I want C&C info, I go to the TLG site. If I want some Savage Worlds downloads, I go to PEG/GWG web page. I want links to fan created material for Rolemaster, I go to the ICE site. T&T doesn't have this, and I think it's sorely needed. 3) Hardcopies. Is it me, or is it harder and harder to find 7E? Not in PDF. 4) One great game, too meny editions. It sort of reminds me of when TSR was supporting both the basic and advance line, as well as a host of settings. It gets muddied. We have 5.5, 7E, and now 6E. I think it would have been much more constructive, once the decision was made for 7E to be the "current" edition, to have gone full force with 7E and the 7E rules. Support the current edition. Have KSA or FDP but thier weight behind the new edition. That's it for now. I apoligize If it sounded harsh.Rest assured, my heart's in the right place

Skathros, I certainly feel your frustrations. I have them on occasion. 1. I’m not sure that the folks at the top “don’t care” but it does certainly seem like a ship running itself on occasion. I’m sure it has something to do with having two editions released at roughly the same time and the T&T community not being certain which way to go. I personally like 5E (or 5.5) better, but many are converts to 7E. Dividing our focus simply makes the frustration that much bigger sometimes. 2. There is actually a centralized place for the game, and it’s at the trollgod’s trollhalla website. That’s Ken St. Andre’s personal page for T&T. I created this forum because I didn’t like the linear nature of the Trollwalla posts and would rather see threads separated in various sections. 3. Haven’t looked for hardcopies recently. 4. Goes back to #1 again. I agree that supporting two editions is rough. I like 5E because it’s most similar to editions previous so all of the older products work with zero conversion. 7E requires more tweaking to make it work, and I don’t have the time or patience right now. For me, I’ve been focusing more of my energies on my “Original D&D Discussion” boards at the moment. I haven’t turned away from T&T or this place, but at the moment I’ve just been doing other things.

I've been quiet for a while, due to some serious upheavals in real life. But I will take a moment and chime in here. 1) I think FBI could do a lot more for T&T, but T&T is not the primary focus for FBI. FD is limited in what they can do by the license agreement they have with FBI. KSA is actively publishing T&T materials, via "that company". He even has a new Trollhalla logo now that he is using for his "that company" publications. Some of what he is currently publishing is updates of older materials, but he is at least actively supporting the product, and use of a new Trollhalla logo implies to me that he is planning more products to be published by "that company". 2) Trollhalla does have links to various T&T sites. Not only does it have links in the navigation menu on the left side of the home page, but the Champions of Trollhalla page also has loads of links to members sites, where you can find all sorts of T&T materials. 3) Like Vin, I haven't looked for hardcopies lately. I have a couple of hardcopies of 5.5 and four hardcopies of 7. So I don't need to go looking for hardcopies again any time soon, I hope. I've yet to wear out the hardcopies of 5.5 and 7 that I'm currently using. 4) Yeah, too many editions for my taste, too. I'm sticking primarily to 7th, referring to 5.5 when discussions go there, and ignoring 6e, which was not condoned, as I understand it, by KSA or FBI or FD. I look at 6 as someone's house rules, and house rules are fine, but I don't think it served the community well to call them the 6th edition.

I'm still playing some T&T, but lately it's mostly been for mini campaigns and the sort.....I keep planning on a long term campaign, but I have yet to get to it.

As for myself-too much work, too little time and too many GAMES! I like T&T a great deal, but i'm running a modified Holmes D&D homebrew right now(blame Meepo at DF for this!). Also, i'm more of a MS&PE fan than a T&T one(though I like both) and given a choice between running/playing a T&T generic campaign and a return to my custom, Howardesque MS&PE campaign(complete with Cthuloid Magic system)...i'll run the latter. Fortunately, my group tends to play a (usually AD&D 1st) game for about 6 months plus, we cleanse the palate with whatever comes to mind and then start a new saga afterwards...everything sees rotation eventually! Well, back to bending steel this evening...

I am in a holding pattern as well. The bulk of my gaming time lately has been sci-fi (Shadowrun and Battletech), as that is what my friends want to play. I do tend to game in phases (a few months heavy into T&T, then a few months heavy into something, etc.) so I'm sure by the end of the year I will get interested again.

Seriously, it does seem like most of the T&T action has vanished. We'll hope that everyone is out enjoying playing in the sun and that as the weather cools off everyone will get serious about gaming again!

If it cools off any more, some of us may freeze in place! Seriously, I've just been running flat-out at work, and have had no energy for anything else. I hope that this changes soon - I have some ideas for a GM adventure that I want to write. There is the possibility of it being published through "that company", if it's up to scratch. Otherwise (and possibly as well), I'll do a PDF version. It won't be finished very soon though.

Too much real life to get in the way of gaming.

Yeah. Maybe it'll get better once the summertime ends and it gets cold outside. I tend to do a lot more indoor stuff like gaming when it's frosty outdoors.

I've got the PDF of the 7th edition, and I've got the 5.5 edition boxed set on order. I liked what I saw in 7th, but from what I've heard 5.5 has some of the stuff that I feel is "missing" from 7. I think I'll end up using 5.5 with the addition of Talents and the Wizardry stat (but without the magic resistance rule, which seems kind of dumb.)
