Well, KSA did request that it be taken off-board. For what it's worth I just posted a call for a tightening up at OP, citin New Khazan, Grislegrim, and Hot Pursuit, pointing out that this sort of thing is tarnishing T&T's reputation in the broader gaming community, being characteized as a "rip-off", and that it is causing some serious cracks in the T&T community.
I also pointed out that there has been a blossoming of late in new T&T stuff and interest and it would be a shame to see that choked off.

When I saw Ken mention taking things private, he was speaking about the New Khazan thing. At that time no one had yet mentioned the hubub over Hot Pursuit and indeed, it seemed no one was aware.
Regardless. I applaud you for what you said and if you said it just that way, that's probably the best and most diplomatic way you could have said it and still remain strong. Had it been me I would have overdone it in my hot-headed manner.

Some say there's no such thing as bad publicity. But it's looking more and more take 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

I think I just got black -balled from Trollhalla for suggesting it was overkill and now the original author of New Khazan wants to eat me... I guess it wasn't overkill afterall. One side of me thinks if there's no money in it who cares, the other side says 'hey if it's my stuff I'd care' and I'm the guy that cut Kopfy's work! I'll keep my head down for a while methinks.
I guess the lesson is: if you are going to sell something make sure you've got the thumbs-up from the chaps that created it for you...
In the real world, "that guy"'s a lawyer. Surely he knows what he's up to? I guess if someone sues him he makes so little from T&T he'd happily hand over the profits.. Who knows.

Wow. That's what I get for posting on the 'walla.
Did I perform some strange T&T fopaux at some point that necessitates bizarre insults that spring from nowhere?...

What James did and the way he went about it wasn't cool. I don't see how it would've been difficult to email the guy and say: "Hey, I wanna expand this. Interested? Failing that, you cool with having someone else taking the ball and running with it?" But, kudos to Kopfy chiming in on the RPG.net thread in question and behaving in a rude manner. Way ta get people interested in T&T.

Uh-oh.
The artist of the piece in question has finally commented on the issue and he knew nothing about it and admits ignorance to the question of whether or not the piece was licensed.
Aaanndd...then he comes back to say that he's now spied another of his pieces that he did for Games Workshop. As he said: "Big mistake."
EDIT: My mistake...this is another artist! Jon Hodgson. He's just spied two of his pieces, one he's unsure of the licensing and another he seems sure could not/should not have been taken and used...
Fan, meet s***.

Kopfy was doing that? I'm surprised...
When editing New Khazan, I told "that guy" that I could fix up the spelling and grammar but couldn't sort out the other areas because it was a nip and tuck from Tom's (Kopfy's) other and devilishly confusing work (TAG). He gave me the go-ahead to re-write, I didn't give it a moment's thought.
Sweat blood to get it ready in time though!

...and the hits just keep on comin'! Now, there seems to be slight evidence that's calling into question the validity of the use of the M6E cover art.

Well, I went and put my foot right in it, no doubt.
Machfront and Hogscape, I don't think either of you have been blackballed from Trollhalla, yet. If you send KSA an email asking to join he'll probably let you.
Kopfy is not doing himself any favors with the way he is spouting off at everyone and everything. This is part of teh reason I posted to Trollhalla not to air dirty laundry in public. His response was, insulting, to say the least.
I haven't heard from James ("that guy") what his side of the story is. James has a reputation for being somewhat slippery, but that is fairly common knowledge if you frequent RPG circles on the net. I can't say if he is misguided or malicious. I tend to favor the former. He did publish the stuff I sent him, and did send me contributor's copies.
The OP products I have bought have ranged from terrific to terrible, but the same can be said of any other company.
He is Kens publisher of choice for fan created T&T stuff. I respect Ken's work, so I respect his wishes on this.
I understand why Kopfy is pissed and if I were in his shoes I would be too. However his current display of immaturity is lowering my opinion of him. I think he needs to step outside and cool off for a few minutes before he turns all his friends against him.
It really is a shame to see this happening in what is usually one of the nicest gaming communities I have found. T&T fans are generally creative and cool people.

Hogscape, well the good news is that it's likely that prints up to now of your M6E will be collector's items.

Now a third artist has come into the fold. The art on the cover of the solo The Tree of Life is his and he certainly did not give permission for the work to be used.
I hope James is a good lawyer. This is getting uglier. (I hope Lulu is able to print my newest copy of the hardback of M6E before the file is pulled...if it will be...) Boy...that was a cynical thing to say, wasn't it?

I hope Lulu is able to print my newest copy of the hardback of M6E before the file is pulled...if it will be... I understand, the cover is beautiful. When I got my copy of the M6E I made a cover for it like the ones we used to use back in school to keep our books from getting messed up. I then made a screenshot of the coverart from Lulu and printed it out. I mounted it on the front of my homemade cover using a photo laminating sheet. All protected and I can still view the art
