Huh, exploring dungeons solo with a wizard, a warrior or a rogue.... huh, sounds kinda familiar somehow. Though I'd like to see how they work the system with only ONE d6 for everything - seems to me it wouldn't give a suitably wide range of results.

It does look like it could be fun for a rainy day and i will most likely by a copy but, i'm not sure how well it would fair for extended play (more than 3 or sessions), playing the same characters.
I do have to say though, it is quite inspirational to see people still produce retro clones of high quality (this one to me smells a lot like Warhammer Quest... But with a completely different set of rules if that makes any sense to anyone but me).
I'm even inclined to produce something similar myself now (but even more TnT'y). :0). Having seen Delver of the Unknown, i wonder, how light can you make an already light system?? I doubt i could beat 2 pages only. :0).

I downloaded that yesterday and i did like what i saw! That clinches it then, i ought to produce something along similar lines. Any thoughts on a name for it??

Adventures Brave Caverns (its as simple as ABC) Ruins & Raiders (when you need a bit of R&R) Lairs, Labyrinths & Lizardmen (L,L & more L) In the unlikely event any of these inspire you to anything i freely waive any intellectual rights...

This is what boggles me, the market for T&T is there but the owners seem unwilling to try and tap into it!
No one will get rich on this stuff but there is a potential to carve out a nich in the market. All of this looks great, I will have to play some solos since I am down with the traditional holiday bug.

Lol!! I actaually like all three of those titles (it was the jokes in the brackets that really sold them). I'll have to roll 1D3 to determine which one to use. ;0). Uburoi, i think it's certainly do-able. I mean you'd have to keep everything brief, cut out the 'What is Role-playing?' speech and, probably go art free and, most likely example free but, certainly do-able. Now do we mean 1 page, 1 side or, 1 page duplexed??

Now do we mean 1 page, 1 side or, 1 page duplexed?? Whatever format will fit on 1 side of 1 page. This idea being inspired by this thread and this thread, the fact that I'm in the final OPD Contest compilation as an "Honorable Mention" biasing me in no way.

Deep 7 have a whole slew of 1PGs. PGs the acual rules for whoc fit on one page, often that one page includes the character sheet.
They are actually a whole lot more satisfying and sophisticated than it sounds at first.
The trick wth a solo game is to make it more than just a dice rolling exercise. There needs to be an element of strategy, or at least interesting reading to keep the player engaged.

I've been looking forward to Ancient Odysseys: Treasure Awaits! for a while.... I'd not noticed Brett mentioning some aspects of solo play before (I had to reread the thread on the PIG website to see the one mention of Ancient Odysseys: Perilous Encounters and him saying that the extra info on a monster description for something else was for solo play.)

I do have to say though, it is quite inspirational to see people still produce retro clones of high quality (this one to me smells a lot like Warhammer Quest... But with a completely different set of rules if that makes any sense to anyone but me). Well, it's not a retro-clone, as it's not based on a pre-existing rule set. It is a retro game, though, to be sure. It's not just a solo game, however, mind. It is strange that there's such an obvious market and nothing was ever done in the T&T world. I said it, and said it, and said it and said it. When the OSR was getting bigger and the retro-clones were showing their popularity and not just with ol' gentlemen who'd played the games when they were new. Now, we have AO:TA! coming out, we've already got excellent little games like QUERP (which really is super-cool), BASH has just released an updated version and I wouldn't be surprised that BASH Fantasy gets a similar re-working (I hope), and of course the boxed sets (sets!) for the forthcoming Dragon Age to name but a few. Too late. Should have gotten in on the ground floor two years ago. Boat missed. The elevator stops and a few games inside says: "Hey! There's gonna be a great party on the top floor and you'd fit right in perfectly. Wanna come?" T&T: "Nah. There's no party. Besides, I've partied before, and it's no biggie." Other game: "Umm. Well...ok." The door slides closed and they look and shake their head, not understanding. Elevator ascends. T&T: .......Huh?......A party?..... When you get a second chance and you're still an "also ran", that's pretty d**n sad.

Well guys i've had a crack, and, in just over an hour i have produce a one page set of rules that are pretty TnT but, if it was ever possible, lighter! By no means a replacement though. ;0). I went with Ruins N' Raiders (Thanks to Zanshin for the title). There are only 3 Attributes (Physical, Mental and, Spiritual... Which means all delvers have PMS) and, three Classes (Warrior, Rogue and Wizard). It has a mechanic (not an original one granted) for combat and task resolution. It does fit the brief though, 1 page, 1D6. :0). That said though, i will need to release an appendix that contains the spells, skills, weapons and, armour but, in the interim it'll be no major challenge to seasoned veterans to fill that gap. So without further ado, here it is... www.mediafire.com/file/t4h3nvtjyjg/Ruins_N_RaidersPDF.pdf
