Mach is the man and he knows it. Until he comes to his senses - send the stuff to me, I'll archive, sort and edit.
Then hand ball to Quog.

Hey, folks, I just had a thought. In order to avoid having our work hijacked would it be worth exploring the Creative Commons licenses? I realize that copyright or copyleft won't stop an opportunist from snagging your work but at least then there is a clear statement that they then have to disregard. Maybe this discussion is better off in it's own thread but I at least wanted to mention it here.

I don't know much about the creative commons licence, Prof - is there a way you synopsize it perhaps? (I will look it up on my own though and try to figure out what it's about) As it stands, I think it's important to make explicitly clear that the copyright of the specific articles and artwork is retained by its originator - along with the responsibilites of not providing someone else's work as your own (an unfortunate necessity it seems)... I'll look into the Creative Commons doohickey today - I know I see a lot of people using it, so they must be somewhat comfortable with it...

I don't know much about the creative commons licence, Prof - is there a way you synopsize it perhaps? I wish I was able but I'm only familiar with it insofar as I've seen other artists release their works with the Creative Commons License. I can tell you that there are multiple variations of the license providing a range of options to the recipient of your creation. Here's the page to choose the type of license to use with your work: creativecommons.org/choose/Hope that helps some.

Over the last year or so I picked up a few back issues of HH (six in all), mainly to get solos with random extra stuff, since they were the same price or less than what OP charged for the stand alone versions. I agree most of the fiction was forgetable, but two by Jason C. Mills (does he post here?) were thoughtful, entertaining and well written. Also Ken St. Andre's "Ten Days in the Arena of Kazhan" from Different Worlds (back in 1980) was great fun to read, to mention a dusty classic off the top of my head.
I'm just saying if any fiction of that caliber comes along grab it, but you probably can't make it a regular feature and maintain decent quality.

I can attest to the quality and humour of Fig's Tail and The Slow and the Dead. I wrote them!
